What does the Reply Badge mean?

The Reply Badge indicates that a seller responds quickly and consistently to replies on their ads. The Reply Badge on your page is visible to all Gumtree users and shows them that you are very responsive to queries.

How can I get a Reply Badge?

In order to get a Reply Badge, you will need to improve your response time to buyers using the Gumtree Platform. By consistently responding to all messages within a faster-than-average time frame over a period of time, you will receive your badge automatically. Responses that occur off-platform (e.g. via WhatsApp) will not improve your reply rating.

Why are there different Reply Badges?

There are three different Reply Badges, issued based on the speed of responses:

• Very Fast Reply – Issued to a seller that responds to a message in 10 minutes or less
• Fast Reply – Issued to a seller that responds to a message in 2 hours or less
• Faster than Average Reply – Issued to a seller that replies to a message within 24 hours of receiving it

What happens if I reply to an ad with a Reply Badge but did not get a response within the indicated time frame?

Reply badges do not automatically guarantee a response or a response within the set time frame as it’s based on averages, i.e. it’s merely an indication of how this seller typically behaves on our site. However, if a seller does not consistently reply to messages within the time frame, they can lose their badge.
