If you are the victim of fraud, please inform Gumtree by contacting our helpdesk and send through all information you have about the ad (ideally the ad number) and the email address of the advertiser so we can take it down immediately.

If you decide to report this to the Police, please get them to contact us via the help pages, so that if they need any information about the ad we can pass all information that we have directly to them.

Gumtree works with law enforcement agencies to try to catch scammers and stop dodgy users from using the site.
