Gumtree should only be used to complete face to face local transactions. If you are buying or selling something, the transaction should take place in person at a location decided upon by both parties.

Paying cash is the best plan. Money should only be exchanged after the item has been inspected. Conducting transactions in-person helps minimise the risk of scams and you'll avoid delivery charges.
