How Can I Include Images in My Ad?

To include images in your ad:
  1. On the posting or editing page, you should see a section called "Pictures" (right below the description box).
  2. Click on one of the picture frames to upload images.
  3. Select a picture file from your computer's hard disk and click "OK". The picture will then be uploaded and attached to your ad. You can upload multiple images with one action by holding down CTRL when selecting your images from your computer.
You can add up to 12 pictures from the Gumtree desktop website and 8 images from the iOS/Android app. Remember a good picture is worth a thousand words, so including one or more with your Ad will increase your chance of getting several replies. (It's recommended that you avoid using web/stock/copyright images to represent your goods).

If you encounter difficulties uploading images on Firefox:

Make sure to disable or turn down your tracking protection settings for the Gumtree website on your browser.

If you encounter difficulties uploading images on Chrome:

We have noticed that users who have the disconnect web browser extension installed have experienced problems uploading images.

To disable the extension, follow the steps here.
 
It may take a few minutes to upload the picture so please be patient
  • Check image size and reduce the size of the pictures to be less than 4MB each if they are larger
  • Go to the folder where the image is stored
  • Click view > details, it gives you information about image size and file type [OR] Right-click the image -> properties
  • Ensure the pictures are in GIF, JPEG or BMP format
  • The best size for images is 800 x 600
  • Turn off any anti-virus or firewall software
  • Make sure you're using the latest version of your web browser
  • If you're experiencing difficulties and have installed ad/image/content-blocking plug-ins - please try disabling them to see if this resolves the issue
